"Mark the trail and save the forest (Označi stazu i sačuvaj šumu)" is a project implemented by UG Tuzla Trail, supported by the Tourist Association of the city of Tuzla (Turistička Zajednica Grada Tuzle)

Goal/purpose of the project:

In order to preserve the natural environment and the forest wealth that surrounds us, one of the most effective ways is the mere presence of nature guards in it. Today, we are witnessing that our common natural wealth, left without adequate supervision at the disposal of careless and unscrupulous users, mostly results in the destruction, theft and devastation of the environment, especially remote forest areas. One of the ways, which has produced results in the environment and in the more advanced countries of the West, is the popularization and promotion of being in nature by conscientious citizens, who, in addition to personal benefits when it comes to health and a new way of life, soon become guardians of the common environment themselves, who do not to report unwanted actions of unscrupulous citizens to competent institutions.

One of the potential guardians of forests is definitely trail runners who base their recreation on movement on natural surfaces, and forest trails are particularly attractive. The "Park Šuma" trail in Slana Banja, as the center of the story of trail running in the city of Tuzla, along with the posted info boards with basic information about the trail and other more important trails that gravitate around the city of Tuzla, significantly enriched the appearance of the park and tourist offer of our city. The idea of the project "Mark the trail and save the forest" is a continuation of good practice with the aim of expanding the Forest Park trail in Slana Banja by marking and placing markings/info boards on the Crno Blato and Breške trails, which connect to the central trail trail of Slana Banja.

Overall, the key to the success of this project is to create a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages forest visitors to enjoy the physical and mental benefits of trail running. In addition to personal benefits, visitors' stay on the trail can also have positive effects on the environment and the local community. A landscaped trail can help protect and preserve the natural environment, provide opportunities for sustainable recreation, and support local businesses and the economy.
